Thirupatur is famous for Lord Brahma, but it is also famous for Patanjali Maharishi, yes Jeeva Samadhi of Patanjali Maharishi is believed to be in Tirupattur #Brahmapureswara Temple.
Here i need to convey the life of #Pathanjali maharishi in a brief way.
There are no authentic records about his birth. As per Information gathered he fell into the hands of Atri maharishi and anusuyai. It was believed that his life was during 2nd century. He started practicing yoga from his early age and reached the point of "Astamasakthi level (8 level of yoga)” which is very tough to reach, Later he wrote this treaties of yoga which is called as pathanjali yoga. Along with thirumoolar siddhar he witnessed the #cosmic #dance of Lord Siva (Anandathandavam) at #Chidambaram
He decided to educate, and motivate human beings to spiritual life and free them from the material enjoyment or material distress. Swami #Vivekananda introduced #Patanjali yoga to the western countries in the form of raja yoga. He was the man, who consider as a "The Father of Modern Yoga"
